Nikki Haley feigned ignorance about Donald Trump’s sex abuse and defamation case, claiming he’s innocent despite a jury finding him liable.
She dodged questions and falsely suggested Trump has not been found guilty, despite a jury ordering him to pay $5 million to E. Jean Carroll.
Haley said, “I haven’t paid attention to his cases and I’m not a lawyer.”
“All I know is that he’s innocent till proven guilty. … You’ve got investigations into Trump and Biden,” she continued.
“Some of the cases have been political. This one, I haven’t looked at,” Haley admitted.
“If he’s found guilty he needs to pay the price. If he’s not found guilty, we need to move forward,” she insisted.
Trump’s legal woes are being leveraged in his presidential campaign, with four upcoming criminal trials and a civil fraud trial that could affect his real estate business.
Haley hopes to challenge Trump in the New Hampshire primary, appealing to Republicans who dislike him, despite recent campaign trail gaffes.
