Democratic strategist James Carville believes that a third-party candidate will receive significant support in the 2024 presidential race, potentially impacting votes for both President Biden and Democrats.
Carville expressed concerns about the uninspiring nature of the election and the potential for a third-party candidate to garner more than 3% of the vote.
He also highlighted substantial doubts within the Republican Party regarding former President Trump’s performance in the Iowa caucuses.
“The third party is going to get a lot of f—— votes in 2024. I’m just telling you,” Carville said.
“Unless something really changes, and it’s hard for me to see the change.”
“It’s just hard for me not to see an uninspiring election with the third party doing really well,” Carville said.
“I don’t know that, but it’s my great fear,” he added.
Notably, Carville has been vocal about his concerns regarding Biden’s re-election prospects, despite being discouraged from discussing the president’s challenges by leading Democrats.
