A deadly shootout outside a Dallas library was linked to an attempted AR-15 purchase, resulting in the deaths of two 15-year-olds.

Obbie Perez, a 17-year-old, has been arrested and charged with capital murder in connection to the shooting.

Court documents reveal that Perez drove one of the victims to the library to buy the rifle, which led to an exchange involving fake money and a duffle bag.

The two teenagers then began shooting at each other, resulting in both being hit.

Perez allegedly hid a Glock pistol and initially denied knowledge of the situation but later admitted to being aware of the planned robbery.

He is currently held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000,000 bond.
