A federal lawsuit filed in Los Angeles alleges that New York Knicks owner James Dolan sexually assaulted massage therapist Kellye Croft a decade ago and arranged for her to be molested by Harvey Weinstein.
Croft claims that Dolan used his power to pressure her into sex and orchestrated a meeting with Weinstein, who allegedly assaulted her.
Croft claimed in the lawsuit that Dolan pressured her “to submit to sex with him.”
She asserts that when she told Dolan about the attack, he showed little concern.
Douglas Wigdor, the attorney representing Croft, wrote, “It is time to finally hold Dolan accountable for his outrageous conduct.”
“I have suffered so profoundly because of what James Dolan and Harvey Weinstein did to me years ago, and it was not an easy decision to come forward and seek justice,” wrote Croft.
“But for me, to truly address my trauma, I need to seek accountability,” she continued.
“Mr. Weinstein vehemently denies these meritless allegations and looks forward to litigating these claims in a court of law where the truth will be revealed,” argued his lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean.
Dolan’s attorney denies the allegations, characterizing them as “an act of retaliation.”
Croft seeks a jury trial and unspecified damages.
Dolan, as the head of Madison Square Garden Sports Corp., oversees the NBA’s Knicks and NHL’s Rangers.
The lawsuit adds to the legal challenges faced by Dolan’s organization, which has previously been involved in high-profile lawsuits.
Harvey Weinstein’s attorney has also dismissed the allegations.
