President Joe Biden is set to meet with congressional leaders to discuss his request for around $106 billion in national security funding, including support for allies like Ukraine and Israel, as well as border security.
The meeting aims to address bipartisan negotiations on border security reforms and Ukraine aid.

“While the president is having this really important meeting tomorrow, negotiations on a bipartisan agreement on the border that includes funding and policy are still ongoing,” Jean-Pierre said, noting that Biden’s team feels conversations are “headed in the right direction.”
Purported details of a border agreement, including increased green cards and work permits, have been released, but Speaker Mike Johnson rejected the reported deal.
Meanwhile, members of Congress are advocating for border legislation passed by the GOP-led House, which Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has refused to consider.
Senate negotiators are working on the border security bill, aiming to release the text soon.
“I encourage people to read the border security bill before they judge the border security bill. I also advise people not to believe everything you read on the internet,” Sen. James Lankford wrote on X.
“Our target is to get text out as quickly as we can,” Lankford said.
“And we’re hoping to be able to do that this week. But we continue to go through little technical things that are just constantly going to come up over and over again. You gotta get them resolved.”
