Former President Donald Trump delivered a victory speech after winning the Iowa caucuses, focusing on illegal immigration and vowing to seal the border.
CNN anchor Jake Tapper interrupted the speech to criticize Trump’s “anti-immigrant rhetoric.”
Trump’s campaign has heavily emphasized the border crisis and blamed President Biden’s policies for exacerbating it.

“We’re going to seal up the border,” Trump said. “Because right now we have an invasion. An invasion of millions and millions of people that are coming into our country. I can’t imagine why they think that’s a good thing …”
“Donald Trump declaring victory with a historically strong showing in the Iowa Caucuses if these numbers hold — the biggest victory for a non-incumbent president in the modern era for this contest,” CNN’s Jake Tapper cut in.

“A relatively subdued speech as these things go so far, although here he is right now, under my voice, you hear him repeating his anti-immigrant rhetoric,” Tapper said.
Despite media and Democratic claims, Trump has clarified that his criticism is directed at illegal border crossings, not legal immigration.
