Sofia Vergara openly discussed her divorce from Joe Manganiello, acknowledging the public’s interest and the respectful press coverage.
She described the past year as “interesting and difficult,” citing her divorce and other challenges.
Despite this, she expressed optimism for the future and mentioned her upcoming show “Griselda” and a potential new romance.

Sofia Vergara said, “You’re out there. People know. That’s part of being a celebrity. I knew it was going to happen. You can’t hide those things.”
“It wasn’t bad,” she continued.
“I have to say the press was very respectful and very nice,” said Vergara. “I thought they were gonna invent more things, you know how it usually is. And I was surprised. They kind of like just said what it was and that was it,” explained the actress.
“I’ve had a very interesting year,” said Vergara.
“I don’t want to say ‘bad’ or anything like that, but it’s been very interesting and very difficult,” she admitted.
“I went through a divorce this year, the SAG strike that went on for so long,” she recalled. “I’ve seen my friends struggle – some had to take their kids out of their schools or had problems with their mortgages, so it’s been a weird, weird year.”
“It’s not like it’s bad. I think all the things are resolving, everything is going to be OK and I’m very excited for next year,” she concluded.

The divorce was initiated by Manganiello, and both parties cited “irreconcilable differences.”
The couple announced together, “We have made the difficult decision to divorce,” in a statement.
“As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives,” their statement continued.
Vergara also sought to honor their prenuptial agreement.
