Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley of Iowa has been hospitalized, his office announced Tuesday.

Grassley is “receiving antibiotic infusions at an area hospital to treat an infection,” his office stated.

“He is in good spirits and will return to work as soon as possible following doctors’ orders.”

He has not commented on the outcome of the Iowa caucuses, where former President Donald Trump won.

Grassley has not made an endorsement in the Republican primary.

Born in 1933, he has been in politics since the 1970s and is currently in his eighth term in the Senate, which ends in January 2029.
