The European Union has added Hamas leader Yehya al-Sinwar to its terrorism list in response to the threat posed by the Palestinian militant organization.
This means that al-Sinwar’s funds and financial assets will be frozen in the EU, and no economic resources may be made available to him.
The EU had previously placed other Hamas leaders on its terrorism list.
Israel’s Foreign Minister welcomed the EU’s decision as just and moral.
“This is a just and moral decision,” Israel Katz wrote. “I thank all our friends that supported this decision.”
