Former Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson announced that he will not run for president in 2024, following a weak showing in the Iowa caucuses.
Hutchinson, a critic of Trump, struggled to gain support and averaged about 1% in national Republican primary polls.
Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy also suspended his 2024 presidential campaign and endorsed Trump after the Iowa caucuses, where he placed lower than expected.

Despite his efforts, Ramaswamy failed to gain significant traction in the caucuses.
“My message of being a principled Republican with experience and telling the truth about the current front-runner did not sell in Iowa,” Hutchinson stated.
“I stand by the campaign I ran,” he added. “I answered every question, sounded the warning to the GOP about the risks in 2024, and presented hope for our country’s future.”
“It is true that we did not achieve the surprise that we wanted to deliver tonight,” Ramaswamy said.
“As of this moment, we are going to suspend this presidential campaign. Earlier tonight, I called Donald Trump to tell him that I congratulated him on his victory. And now, going forward, he will have my full endorsement for the presidency.”
