The United States Catholic bishops have initiated a “9 Days for Life” prayer campaign, coinciding with the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision.
This novena aims to promote prayer for the protection of human life and reparation for the act of abortion.
The bishops emphasize a shift in the tone of the annual March for Life, noting the recent Supreme Court decision allowing individual states to regulate abortion.
The ruling “marked the beginning of a new phase in protecting human life,” the bishops stated.
Additionally, a nationwide prayer vigil is scheduled for January 18-19, in conjunction with the March for Life in Washington.
Catholics marching again “are also invited to observe a nationwide prayer vigil January 18-19 to pray for an end to abortion and a greater respect for all human life,” the statement adds.
