New York City Mayor Eric Adams has amassed over $650,000 in a legal defense trust within two months, amidst an ongoing FBI investigation into alleged corruption at City Hall benefiting the Turkish government.
The trust’s first disclosure is expected soon.
The investigation centers on whether Adams’ 2021 campaign collaborated with the Turkish government to channel funds.
FBI agents have seized electronic devices from Adams and others, prompting the mayor to return from Washington, D.C.
The FBI also searched the homes of Adams’ aide and a former Turkish Airlines executive.
