Republican Gov. Brian Kemp opposes a criminal probe into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, preferring an oversight committee investigation, according to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Kemp and Georgia Attorney General Christopher Carr are seeking to use the state’s oversight committee to investigate Willis for an alleged improper relationship with a top prosecutor in the case against former President Donald Trump.

She filed a complaint against Willis and her top prosecutor, seeking the dismissal of charges against Trump due to alleged corruption.
“I really want to see more action out of state leaders,” Greene said. “I want to be a lot more aggressive.”
“They’re [Kemp, Carr] sitting back and waiting,” she said. “It’s also no secret I don’t think either one of them supports President Trump.”
“They want to sit back” and not “weaponize government in any way. ‘We want to let this oversight committee do its job,’” she said. “But if they sit there and do that constantly, the Democrats are going to keep winning,” she argued.
Willis, in response, claimed the allegations against her were based on racism and criticized Greene, leading to further tension between the two.
“I never want to be a Marjorie Taylor Greene, who has never met me but has allowed her spirit to be filled with hate,” Willis said.
