Former President Donald Trump emerged as the clear front-runner in the Republican caucus in Iowa, prompting President Joe Biden to acknowledge the likelihood of Trump winning the Republican primary and challenging Biden for reelection.
Biden’s campaign emphasized the need to work harder in the face of Trump’s official frontrunner status, anticipating aggressive tactics from the opposition.

Biden wrote on X, “Looks like Donald Trump just won Iowa. He’s the clear front runner on the other side at this point.”
“But here’s the thing, his election was always going to be you and me vs. extreme MAGA Republicans. It was true yesterday and it’ll be true tomorrow,” he continued.
A Biden fundraising email stated, “The Iowa results are in, and it’s clear: Donald Trump is the official frontrunner for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.”
“We need to work even harder now. If Donald Trump is our opponent, we can expect vile attacks, endless lies, and massive spending,” continued the email.
In his victory speech, Trump called for unity across party lines to address the challenges facing the nation.
Trump said, “I really think this is time now for everybody — our country — to come together.”
“We want to come together,” he added.
“Whether it’s Republican or Democrat or liberal or conservative, it would be so nice if we could come together and straighten out the world and straighten out the problems and straighten out all of the death and destruction that we’re witnessing,” explained the former president.
