Dot Sharp, an 84-year-old McDonald’s employee in western Pennsylvania, retired after 43 years of service.

Her last order was taken from her granddaughter, who also worked at the restaurant.

Sharp praised the people she worked with and the flexibility provided to her as a single mother. (Trending: Joe Biden’s Approval Crashes To New Low)

She witnessed the introduction of classic McDonald’s dishes and saw prices at the restaurant when every item cost less than a dollar.

“The best part of my job has always been the people,” she said. “I love my customers and my co-workers.”

“The McDonald’s owners have always been great to work for,” Sharp said. “I was a single mom. They gave me all the flexibility I needed to earn a living and take care of my kids.”

The owner-operator of the McDonald’s location praised Sharp for her dedication and wished her a well-deserved retirement.

“She brought a sunny disposition to every shift and always made the customer her top priority,” owner-operator Meghan Sweeney said.

“I’m hoping Dot enjoys a well-deserved break in her retirement.”

“Our customers love her and so have generations of her fellow co-workers,” Sweeney added. “We’re so lucky to have had her on our team!”
