In the Iowa GOP caucuses, Donald Trump secured a significant victory, more than doubling his 2016 support.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis came in second, while businessman Vivek Ramaswamy dropped out and endorsed Trump.

Trump’s strengths were evident across various demographic groups, and he won a majority of White evangelical Christians.

DeSantis and Haley had specific strengths, but DeSantis secured second place due to advantages in certain groups.

TRUMP STRENGTHS: Trump won 55% of White evangelical Christians, which is more than double DeSantis’ 24% and Haley’s 13%.

• No College Degree: 62%
• Very Conservatives: 58%
• Rural Caucusgoers: 58%

Fewer voters would be satisfied if DeSantis or Haley wins the GOP nomination:

• Yes, If Haley 35%

Despite Trump’s strong win, there are concerns about party unity, with a significant portion of voters expressing dissatisfaction with potential nominees.

Issues such as mental capacity, leadership, and winning in November were crucial to voters.

Additionally, there was mistrust of the legal system and doubts about the legitimacy of the 2020 election results.

Immigration and the economy were the top concerns, with strong support for Trump’s border wall policy.
