Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) faced criticism after conflating weather with climate change in a social media post during extreme winter weather.

“You’ve got to appreciate the irony of climate protestors trudging through a foot of snow and -30 degree wind chills to yell about how the planet is warming,” Boebert wrote.

“They just don’t see it, do they?” she added. (Trending: Trump Responds To Biden’s Bombing In Yemen)

Critics ruthlessly mocked her understanding, prompting some to explain the difference between weather and climate.

They highlighted that weather refers to short-term changes while climate refers to longer-term averages, making climate change’s impact less immediate and harder to perceive.
