Donald Trump falsely claimed that gas prices had reached $5, $6, $7, and even $8 a gallon.

This statement was fact-checked and proven wrong by GasBuddy, which found no stations selling gas at $8 per gallon.

In reality, the national average price was $3.077 per gallon.

Attorney Ron Filipkowski posted, “GasBuddy finds not one single station in their database of ~150,000 gas stations at $8 per gallon.”

This isn’t the first time Trump has exaggerated gas prices to criticize President Joe Biden, as he made similar claims at a campaign rally.
