Hundreds of U.S. government workers from nearly two dozen departments plan to walk off the job in protest of the Biden administration’s handling of the Gaza conflict.
The protest, organized by Feds United for Peace, aims to observe a “Day of Mourning” to mark the 100th day of Israel’s military operation in Gaza.
The planned walkout reflects growing frustration among officials over the administration’s failure to call for an urgent cease-fire in Gaza. (Trending: Trump Responds To Biden’s Bombing In Yemen)

One of the anonymous organizers said the protest “grew out of a collective desire to do what we could to influence the Biden administration’s policy on this issue.”
“What you’re seeing with this effort is something very unusual, and that is for dissent to be manifested via a physical act,” they added.
Internal differences within the government have surfaced publicly, with some officials resigning in protest and expressing concerns over the administration’s policy choices.
The planned protest has drawn criticism from some lawmakers, while organizers emphasize their desire to influence policy from within.
Speaker Mike Johnson said, “Any government worker who walks off the job to protest U.S. support for our ally Israel is ignoring their responsibility and abusing the trust of taxpayers.”
“They deserve to be fired. Oversight Chairman Comer and I will be working together to ensure that each federal agency initiates appropriate disciplinary proceedings against any person who walks out on their job,” he continued.
The protesters described “a moral obligation and a patriotic duty” to force change without quitting their positions.
