President Joe Biden’s campaign advisers are eager for the Republican primary to begin, as many undecided voters don’t believe Donald Trump will be the nominee.
The campaign aims to convey Trump’s frontrunner status and the potential impact of a second term.
With most voters not closely following the election, the campaign is focused on highlighting Trump’s candidacy and contrasting it with Biden’s vision. (Trending: Trump Responds To Biden’s Bombing In Yemen)
They are particularly concentrating on Trump’s statements regarding Roe v. Wade and the economy.
“You can’t conceive of how tuned out these folks are,” one campaign official stated.
“Donald Trump’s campaign is about him, not America, not you. Donald Trump’s campaign is obsessed with the past, not the future. He’s willing to sacrifice our democracy to put himself in power,” Biden said.
“The president looks forward to spending the next 10 months reminding the American people how dangerous Donald Trump and his MAGA agenda are for Americans’ pocketbooks, their freedoms, and their democracy,” Biden communications director Michael Tyler stated.
Despite trailing in hypothetical matchups, the campaign plans to continue emphasizing Trump’s first term and the potential implications of another Trump presidency.
“[Trump]’s acknowledging that my economy is doing pretty darn well, because he doesn’t want that to continue,” Biden wrote online.
“And by the way, the idea that he wants to see a crash in the next 12 months – he doesn’t want to be Herbert Hoover. He has to understand, he’s already Herbert Hoover. He’s the only other president who lost jobs during his term.”
“Once you get to that head-to-head, the dynamics change. The world is different,” a senior Biden campaign official stated.
