Ricky Schroder has launched the Reel American Heroes foundation, aiming to counteract what he sees as moral decay and un-American values promoted by Hollywood.
The foundation seeks to spotlight stories about veterans, first responders, and their families to promote American values through films, documentaries, and public service announcements.
Described as a patriot version of PBS, the foundation also works on entertainment and storytelling while advocating for a safer internet landscape through the Council on Pornography Reform (CPR). (Trending: Trump Responds To Biden’s Bombing In Yemen)
The foundation wrote on their website, “At Reel American Heroes Foundation, we honor our nation by presenting films, documentaries, television series public service announcements of courage; stories about our veterans, active soldiers, first responders, Gold Star families, as well as past and present heroic figures. Our goal is to inspire, raise awareness, entertain, and educate.”
“Here’s the plan. We’re going to build a sort of ‘Patriot PBS,’ an army of storytellers to counteract much of the negative program coming from Hollywood these days. Our money, our stories, our legacies,” explained Schroder.
“Folks, never has the need been greater for a constructive vision for our collective futures. Storytelling is at the root of our shared history. I know together we can build a foundation that will inspire the world through storytelling,” he continued.
Reel American Heroes will partner with “a unique group of creatives with over 100 years of collective experience in writing, producing, directing films, documentaries, television series, and public service announcements (PSA’s) in efforts to strengthen our nation and better our communities nationwide,” according to their website.
The group aims to create a balance of “freedom of choice and the protection of vulnerable populations, fostering a more informed and responsible digital society.”
