Trump biographer Tim O’Brien explained on MSNBC that Donald Trump tends to lash out and claim things are out of control when he doesn’t get what he wants.
Trump recently claimed there would be “bedlam” in America if he was denied a return to the White House due to ongoing criminal prosecutions.
O’Brien noted that Trump has a history of using exaggerated language when faced with opposition, and tends to lack a sense of proportion or civility. (Trending: Trump Defies Court And Delivers Closing Argument At Civil Fraud Trial)
“It’s a very bad thing. It’s a very bad precedent. As we said, it’s the opening of a Pandora’s Box,” Trump said.
Trump has “used that word [bedlam] throughout his whole career any time the system comes at him in a way he doesn’t like,” O’Brien noted.
“When [then-New York City Mayor] Ed Koch refused to zone a piece of property Trump wanted on the West Side, he said, ‘There’s bedlam in New York, I couldn’t get zoned,’” O’Brien said.
“He has no sense of proportion,” he added.
“And he’s got no sense of civility or the rule of law. So he’ll simply say, ‘It’s chaos,’ because I’m not getting what I want.”
This behavior has been observed in various situations, such as when Trump faced legal challenges or sought zoning changes for his properties.
