Todd and Julie Chrisley, reality TV stars convicted for fraud and tax evasion, have been awarded a $1 million settlement by the state of Georgia following a federal lawsuit against the former Director of Special Investigations of the state’s Department of Revenue.
The settlement comes after the Chrisleys were convicted and sentenced to prison in 2022 for bank fraud and tax evasion, with Todd receiving a reduced sentence in January 2023.
Their attorney will be back in court in April to appeal their criminal convictions. (Trending: Anthony Fauci Questioned About Evidence Behind COVID Restrictions)

Alex Little, the family’s attorney, wrote in a statement, “We have been saying for months that the criminal case against the Chrisleys was highly unusual and had real problems.”
“This settlement is an encouraging sign,” the statement continued.
“It’s nearly unprecedented for one arm of the government to pay money to defendants when another arm is fighting to keep them in jail,” concluded Little’s statement.
