Texas has added new barriers along its border with Mexico, blocking Border Patrol access to a city park near Eagle Pass.

This action is part of an escalating conflict over migration between Texas Governor Greg Abbott and U.S. President Joe Biden.

The dispute reflects a broader standoff between the Biden administration and Texas over border control. (Trending: GOP Rep. Mace Clashes Directly With Hunter Biden At Hearing)

Governor Abbott has asserted the state’s legal authority to control entry to locations within Texas, including the park in Eagle Pass.

“That authority is being asserted with regard to that park in Eagle Pass, Texas, to maintain operational control of it,” Abbott said.

The Texas National Guard has been implementing temporary barriers to deter illegal crossings.

The Biden administration has sought Supreme Court intervention to allow Border Patrol agents to remove the fencing, but a ruling is pending.
