Senator Marco Rubio introduced the Mandatory Removal Proceedings Act to compel the Department of Homeland Security to start removal proceedings for foreign nationals whose visas are revoked due to security-related reasons.
The bill aims to ensure that individuals whose visas are revoked on security grounds are automatically placed in removal proceedings.
This initiative has garnered support from several other senators and U.S. Representative Wesley Hunt, who introduced companion legislation in the House. (Trending: GOP Rep. Mace Clashes Directly With Hunter Biden At Hearing)
“Supporting terrorism disqualifies individuals from having a visa, and we should not allow these individuals to remain in our country based on the whims of this administration,” Rubio stated.
“The Mandatory Removal Proceedings Act stands as a decisive measure, ensuring that when a visa is revoked on security grounds, that individual is automatically placed in removal proceedings.”
The bill also includes a provision to revoke visas and initiate deportation proceedings for foreign nationals endorsing or espousing terrorist activities of specific organizations.
