Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) mistakenly accused former President Donald Trump of “inciting an erection” during a House Judiciary Committee hearing, before correcting herself to say “insurrection.”
This slip echoed a similar gaffe made by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer in 2021.
Sen. Chuck Schumer said in 2021 that the Senate would determine if, “Donald John Trump incited the erection.” (Trending: Anthony Fauci Questioned About Evidence Behind COVID Restrictions)

Jayapal tried to portray Trump’s conduct as more egregious than that of Hunter Biden, who had refused to obey a congressional subpoena and had explicit photographs displayed in Congress.
The incident highlights the increasing pressure on Democrats to support a contempt citation, particularly given the comparison to the January 6 Committee’s actions.
