Rep. Adam Schiff reminded Donald Trump that even presidents have limits to their power, countering Trump’s attorneys’ argument for “absolute immunity” for presidents, even in cases of ordering the assassination of a political rival.
Trump insisted on the necessity of presidential immunity to avoid ineffectiveness, but a number of legal observers and Schiff disagree.
Schiff asserted that the U.S. Constitution “is not a suicide pact” and no one has immunity for murder, not even a president. (Trending: GOP Rep. Mace Clashes Directly With Hunter Biden At Hearing)
