Nikki Haley, a prominent figure in South Carolina politics, faces challenges in competing with Donald Trump in the 2024 Republican primary, despite her growing momentum in New Hampshire.

Trump maintains a strong lead in South Carolina, a state where he enjoys significant support.

Haley’s gains in the polls primarily come from undecided voters, and she faces skepticism from South Carolina Republicans due to concerns about her foreign policy and potential “globalist” tendencies. (Trending: First Moon Mission In 50 Years Blasts Off)

Although she has received endorsements, including from Rep. Ralph Norman, she still encounters resistance from some party members.

“Everything I’m seeing from polls I trust, and then overestimations from even polls I don’t trust, are that Trump is still heavily dominant,” Winthrop University professor Scott Huffmon said.

“South Carolina has a more ideologically conservative and evangelical Christian electorate than New Hampshire, which, comparatively speaking, has one of less religious and less conservative GOP electorates in the country,” Kyle Kondik said.

“They don’t want her anywhere near the White House,” Bob Fetterly said.

The likelihood of her winning in her home state is considered to be very low.
