Left-wing media outlets recently reported on allegations linking former President Donald Trump to the late Jeffrey Epstein.

However, they failed to highlight that the accuser had retracted such claims in 2019.

The reports were based on court documents containing emails from Sarah Ransome, an Epstein victim, suggesting the existence of sex tapes involving prominent individuals, including Trump. (Trending: Joe Biden Sets New Presidential Record)

“These baseless accusations have been fully retracted because they are simply false and have no merit,” Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung said.

Ransome later admitted to fabricating the tapes to draw attention to Epstein’s behavior.

Despite this retraction, media outlets ran with the old and retracted news, prompting criticism from investigative reporter Vicky Ward, who emphasized the complexity of the story due to the fear and imperfect memories of witnesses and victims.

“Very importantly, Sarah Ransome has since said that isn’t true — that she invented the sex tapes because she was so terrified of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell at the time,” Ward said.

“This is why covering this story is so complicated. Witnesses, victims are afraid.”

“People have imperfect memories and sometimes complex motives,” Ward added.
