Tens of thousands of Chinese nationals have been stopped at the southern U.S. border, with a significant increase in numbers compared to previous years.
Many claim to be fleeing the oppressive communist regime in China.
The situation has garnered attention from GOP figures, including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who have called for stronger border control. (Trending: Fox News Star Accused Of Major Scandal)

“This is not normal. Our country is being invaded,” DeSantis wrote.
“We cannot afford to take half measures or make excuses on this issue. We must stop the invasion, take the fight to the cartels, and finally build the border wall.”
“As your Commander-in-Chief, I will get it done.”
“China knows the easiest way into America is through our southern border,” Nikki Haley wrote.
“Close the border. Protect our homeland.”
There are concerns about China’s involvement in the open border crisis, particularly in the production and distribution of fentanyl.
“From what we understand, a lot of the supplies and chemical supplies, and sort of the raw materials that you need to create in fentanyl, a lot of them come from, from China and they enter from China to Mexico,” Northeastern University-London’s Dr. Pablo Calderón Martínez said.
“And then fentanyl is prepared in Mexico in clandestine labs, and then is moved from Mexico from other parts in Latin America to the United States. And, and that’s more or less the supply chain as we understand it.”
Additionally, Republicans are initiating hearings to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, accusing him of failing to enforce federal immigration law.
“I believe Secretary Mayorkas is an abject failure, but it’s not because of incompetence,” House Speaker Mike Johnson said.
“I believe he has done this intentionally. I think these are intentional policy decisions that he’s made. And I think there must be accountability for that.”
“Secretary Mayorkas is not a good faith negotiating partner,” he added.
“He’s unwilling to enforce existing federal law, why would we believe that he would do any new provision? He’s lied to Congress repeatedly, he’s lied to me personally.”
