Gov. Ron DeSantis criticized President Biden’s foreign policy with Israel, calling it “schizophrenic” and accusing him of trying to hinder Israel’s response to the Hamas attack.
DeSantis emphasized the importance of supporting Israel as a strong ally, particularly in the context of the recent conflict, highlighting the need to stand by Israel in both public and private spheres.
He condemned Biden’s shifting stance on Israel and stressed the country’s right and responsibility to protect its citizens from threats. (Trending: First Moon Mission In 50 Years Blasts Off)
“I understand their passion,” Biden said when interrupted by pro-Palestine hecklers during a speech. “And I’ve been quietly working — I’ve been quietly working with the Israeli government to get them to reduce and significantly get out of Gaza. I’ve been using all that I can to do that.”
“Nothing’s changed about our view here that we don’t support a cease-fire at this time,” United States National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby said.
“And there’s no change to that, because we don’t believe that that benefits anybody but Hamas right now.”
“We do continue to support humanitarian pauses, but not a general cease-fire right now. The president wasn’t signaling any change at all.”
“Well, with that, Governor DeSantis, welcome,” Fox News’ Bret Baier said.”We know it took a lot to get here from the storms down in Florida. We appreciate you being here on stage.”
“We want to start with foreign policy. What’s your reaction to President Biden saying that he’s pushing Israel to get out of Gaza and then today the White House saying, no, no, no, there’s no change in policy?”
“Well, look, Israel is a rock-solid ally of ours. They are the strongest ally we have in the Middle East,” DeSantis said. “As president, I will stand with Israel in word and in deed, in public and in private. And what Joe Biden is doing, he has got a schizophrenic policy.”
“Because he first said he was for Israel, then he’s got his far left who doesn’t like Israel. So he’s kind of bouncing back and forth. And behind the scenes they are doing a lot to try to kneecap Israel.”
“The October 7th attack represented more Jews being killed than at any time since the Holocaust. Israel is not just fighting a run-of-the-mill enemy, they’re fighting an enemy that wants a second Holocaust, that wants to wipe them off the map.”
“So not only do they have a right, they have a responsibility to protect their people and end Hamas once and for all. So, as president, they’re going to have my support. They are in a very tough neighborhood. But they are a strong and valued ally of the United States of America.”
