A federal appeals court expressed skepticism about former President Donald Trump’s immunity claim in a case related to his actions to subvert the 2020 election.
The court seemed unlikely to rule in his favor, with judges questioning the idea that a president is immune from prosecution for actions taken while in office.
The outcome of the immunity question will play a major role in deciding whether Trump will go to trial in the election interference case. (Trending: Clintons Scramble To Delete Embarrassing Photo, But Were Too Slow)

Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson said, “I think it’s paradoxical to say that his constitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed allows him to violate the criminal law.”
Trump attended the hearing in person, and the issue of immunity is expected to reach the Supreme Court.
“I think it’s very unfair when a political opponent is prosecuted,” said Trump.
The court’s decision will also impact the timing of other criminal trials Trump is facing.
