CNN’s Karen Finney and anchor Jim Acosta discussed a video shared by Donald Trump on his Truth Social platform, in which the narrator portrayed Trump as an instrument of God.
The video highlighted evangelical Christians’ belief in Trump as a figure who can restore America, despite his controversial behaviors.
“Karen, your jaw is dropping,” Acosta said to Finney.
The CNN discussion referenced Tim Alberta’s book “The Kingdom, The Power, And The Glory: American Evangelicals in an Age of Extremism,” which delves into this particular subject regarding American evangelicals. (Trending: Epstein’s Brother Finally Breaks His Silence)

“This is not new, right?” CNN’s Ana Navarro pressed.
“These are the same evangelicals who somehow justified to themselves voting for a guy in 2016 who we all heard boast on video, we all heard him in his own voice, boasting about committing sexual assault.”
Trump’s critical comments toward evangelicals during the 2016 GOP primary were brought up, as well as the claim by some key evangelical figures in 2022 that they had distanced themselves from Trump unless he becomes the Republican nominee.
