Colorado and Maine removed Donald Trump from the primary-election ballot due to his involvement in the January 6, 2021 insurrection.
In response, Missouri attorney general Jay Ashcroft has threatened to remove Joe Biden from the ballot in his state.
The move is seen as a tactic of accusing Democrats of misconduct similar to that of Trump. (Trending: Joe Biden Sets New Presidential Record)
Additionally, there remains a broader misinformation campaign by the MAGA movement to label President Biden as a “threat to democracy.”
“The only insurrection is the insurrection that is taking place at our border where he is allowing millions of people from parts unknown to invade our country at a level far worse than even a military invasion,” Trump said.
“Biden and his radical left allies like to pose as defenders of democracy,” Trump later pressed.

“But Joe Biden is not the defender of American democracy. Joe Biden is the destroyer of American democracy. … This campaign is a righteous crusade to liberate our republic from Biden and the criminals and the Biden administration.”
This tactic aims to keep the party base energized while undermining the credibility of both parties.
What has happened in Colorado & Maine is disgraceful & undermines our republic. While I expect the Supreme Court to overturn this, if not, Secretaries of State will step in & ensure the new legal standard for @realDonaldTrump applies equally to @JoeBiden! https://t.co/Zx2P4k9A8w
