The release of late Jeffrey Epstein’s court records has implicated several high-profile individuals, including Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz and former President Donald Trump.

However, due to legal limitations, those named in the records are unable to sue for defamation, even if their connections with Epstein were innocent.

Former President Bill Clinton is also unable to sue due to litigation privilege, and it is unlikely that there will be criminal prosecutions for defamation claims. (Trending: Hollywood A-Listers Revealed In Epstein Court Documents)

“I say unfortunately, because in the public’s mind when your name is on the list, you had something to do with Jeffrey Epstein,” Judge Andrew Napolitano said. “There’s not a shred of allegation against him,” he added.

“Former President Donald Trump flew on his plane or met him at Mar-a-Lago; not a shred of allegations about inappropriate behavior. If I’m suing you, I get to say things about you and that’s privileged,” he said.

“You get to say things about me. That’s privileged.”

Despite this, the implications of the Epstein documents may still affect the political careers of those involved, including Bill and Hillary Clinton.

“The dust settles, the cases are over,” Napolitano said.

“The Miami Herald sues under the Freedom of Information Act and says we want the FBI’s files.”

“It’s going to be meaningless to his [Clinton’s] political career, and he can’t sue anybody over it, but his name is there.”
