Germany Joins Their Neighbors In Bolstering Their Military

A survey reveals that over half of Germans want to reinstate compulsory military service, with 52% in favor and 32% against.

The desire for rearmament is growing across Europe, prompting Germany to reconsider its decision to end conscription in 2011.

German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said, “All young women and men are mustered there and only a selected number of them end up doing basic military service.”

The Bundeswehr currently faces recruitment challenges, with thousands of positions left vacant in 2022.
