Cuban had defended DEI policies in response to Musk’s criticisms, emphasizing the benefits of inclusive hiring practices.
“You may not agree, but I take it as a given that there are people of various races, ethnicities, orientation, etc that are regularly excluded from hiring consideration,” Cuban wrote.
“By extending our hiring search to include them, we can find people that are more qualified. The loss of DEI-Phobic companies is my gain,” he added.
“Cool, so when should we expect to see a short white/Asian women on the Mavs?” Musk asked.
Musk also criticized Cuban for avoiding a question about discrimination against Asians in college admissions.

“DEI is just another word for racism. Shame on anyone who uses it,” wrote the billionaire.
“DEI, because it discriminates on the basis of race, gender and many other factors, is not merely immoral, it is also illegal,” explained Musk.
