Donald Trump’s off-the-wall campaign rally tangent complained about electric catapults and magnetic elevator systems for U.S. aircraft carriers.

Trump appeared to shock the Iowa crowd by saying, “All I know about magnets is this, give me a glass of water, let me drop it on the magnets, that’s the end of the magnets.” (Trending: Chilling Arrest Footage of Trump Co-Defendant Provides Glimpse Into Jack Smith Probe)

On X, Trump’s comments were fact-checked by a community note.

“Magnets work underwater and are not affected by water. Magnetic fields are not the same as electrical circuits,” the fact check read.

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell said Trump’s comment was “relentlessly stupid.”
