Former President Donald Trump criticized New York Attorney General Letitia James and Judge Arthur Engoron, who is overseeing his civil fraud trial.
Trump accused Engoron of bias and illegal actions, claiming damage to the justice system.
The trial could result in $250 million in fines and a ban on business in New York. (Trending: Hollywood A-Listers Revealed In Epstein Court Documents)
Trump wrote, “Remember, the corrupt and radical Judge Engoron is a political hack who wouldn’t give us a Jury, wouldn’t let this ‘case’ go to the Commercial Division, where it belongs (would have been TERMINATED), incredibly ignored the Appellate Court decision that struck down almost 90% of this fake lawsuit based on Statute of Limitations, etc., and, Illegally and Unconstitutionally Gagged me and my lawyers, in a brazen and blatant attempt to prevent us from bringing vital information to the Public and the Courts.”
The case revolves around alleged inflated asset values for insurance and loan benefits.
Engoron has found Trump guilty of fraud, but other claims and final punishment are pending.
Legal experts predict a prolonged appeals process, potentially delaying resolution until after the 2024 presidential election.
The revocation of Trump Organization’s business licenses is also pending appeals, with potential long-term consequences.
