A recent poll by the Washington Post and the University of Maryland’s Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement revealed that 36 percent of Americans, including 9 percent of Democrats, believe President Joe Biden was illegitimately elected.
This marks a 5 percentage point increase from 2021.
The poll also indicated that younger Americans were more likely to question Biden’s legitimacy, and a significant portion of Republicans do not hold Trump responsible for the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

Additionally, the survey showed that nearly 70 percent of Republicans believe Trump is innocent of attempting to overturn the 2020 election.
