Woodstock City council member Gordie Tebo, said, “We don’t have the resources to do it. As much as we’d love to do it, we don’t have those resources.”
Woodstock Mayor Mike Turner, wrote on Facebook, “For the City of Woodstock, we determined that our approach would be to encourage and direct these migrants to accept transportation into the City of Chicago via train or bus so that they can make use of the City of Chicago / State of Illinois / Federal government resources available to provide assistance to them.”
Woodstock City Council member Melissa McMahon said, “We saw children, I would say, as young as 18 months to senior citizens, not prepared for this weather.”
“Saw a very nondescript, white tour bus kind of thing, and we were like ‘hmm,’ knowing what’s going on,” she continued.
