Theobald “Theo” Lengyel, a former rock musician and saxophone player, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in the death of his girlfriend, 61-year-old Alice “Alyx” Kamakaokalani Herrmann.

Herrmann, a neuroscientist and member of Outrigger Santa Cruz, was reported missing in December.

Her car was found in front of Lengyel’s home, and human remains were discovered in a wooded area. (Trending: Pro Sport Announces Shock Decision On Transgender Athletes)

“As the investigation progressed, it became clear that foul play was involved, leading to the identification of Theobald Lengyel as a suspect,” the Capitola Police Department stated.

“The diligent work of our investigators, in coordination with our law enforcement partners, has led to the apprehension of Theobald Lengyel in connection with the tragic homicide of Alice Kamakaokalani,” they added.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the victim during this time.”

Lengyel is being held without bail, and police have not disclosed the cause of Herrmann’s death.
