A national Economist–YouGov poll shows President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump tied at 44% in a hypothetical two-way race among registered voters.
Trump leads among independents but trails in Democrat support.
In hypothetical matchups, Biden leads Gov. Ron DeSantis and former Gov. Nikki Haley.

The poll also indicates Trump’s lead in the Republican presidential primary, with 63 percent support, followed by DeSantis at 14%.
The pollsters reported “Nikki Haley receiving 8%, Vivek Ramaswamy receiving 5%, and Chris Christie receiving 1% support.”
