Protesters, including individuals from so-called “Jewish” groups, disrupted the California State Assembly’s first legislative session, prompting lawmakers to leave.

The demonstrators, advocating for a cease-fire in the Israel-Hamas war, chanted and sang, leading to a shutdown of the democratic process.

“It’s the third time in recent months that cease-fire demonstrators have disrupted a major political event in California, highlighting a widening rift between progressive activists and more mainstream Democrats over the conflict,” Politico wrote. Despite the disruption, no arrests were made, and the protesters continued their activities even after the adjournment.

This event reflects a growing divide between progressive activists and mainstream Democrats over the conflict.
