Peloton, known for its innovative fitness equipment, faced controversy as UFC CEO Dana White demanded the removal of all Peloton bikes from UFC gyms due to the company’s demand for Theo Von to take down an interview with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
White expressed strong disapproval and replaced the bikes with Echelon ones.
Peloton has 6.4 million members as of September 30, 2023, but has seen a decline in membership and revenue. (Trending: Pro Sport Announces Shock Decision On Transgender Athletes)
“What’s wrong with him?” White asked regarding Kennedy.
White added that Kennedy is a “smart guy,” a “Democrat with common sense.”
“Peloton sells stationary bikes, and they’ve got a problem with Robert ——- Kennedy,” White said.
“—- you, Peloton.”
“This is America,” White said.
“You can ——- have whoever you want on your podcast. You can do whatever the f— you want to do,” White said to Von.
“We’re going to go throw them in the ——- garbage today,” White said of the UFC’s Pelotons.
“We’re throwing the Pelotons in the garbage. We’re throwing them out of the UFC gym.”
“That, right there, tells you exactly what Barry McCarthy is all about,” White later said of the Peloton CEO.
“Peloton just laid off 500 of their employees in their fourth round of cuts this year.”
The company’s stock has fluctuated significantly, reaching an all-time high in January 2021 but has since dropped over 96%.
Peloton recently announced a partnership with TikTok, providing a positive turn amid its challenges.
