A recent survey by The Washington Post/University of Maryland shows a decrease in the number of Republicans who believe former President Trump is responsible for the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.
Overall, just over 50% of U.S. adults attribute “a great deal” or “a good amount” of responsibility to Trump, down from 60% in December 2021.
The survey also indicates a decrease in the percentage of Republicans who hold Trump accountable, from 27% to 14%.
Despite facing legal challenges, Trump leads the GOP primary race for the 2024 presidential election.
