Ford is recalling 112,965 F-150 pickup trucks from 2021 to 2023 due to a rear axle hub bolt issue that could lead to a roll away risk if damaged.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) highlighted the potential for vehicle roll away and loss of drive power, increasing crash risk.
Ford is developing a fix and advises owners to visit dealerships for interim repairs if they notice specific noises. (Trending: Trump Announces Heartbreaking Melania-Related Health Update)
The agency warned the rear axle might “fatigue and break, which can result in damage to the axle hub splines.”
Damage “can result in a vehicle roll away when the vehicle is in park without the parking brake applied, or cause a loss of drive power,” wrote the NHTSA.
This can “increase the risk of a crash,” added the agency.
Letters will be sent to owners, and they can contact Ford customer service.
This recall follows a previous one for electronic parking brake issues, with Ford currently working on a solution.
