A recent poll by the Associated Press (AP) and the NORC Center for Public Affairs Research showed a significant increase in Americans’ concern about foreign policy as a top issue for 2024, nearly doubling from the previous year.

The Israel-Hamas conflict and potential Russian and Chinese actions were noted as primary concerns.

The economy remains the top issue, but economic anxiety may have prompted the rise in foreign policy concerns. (Trending: Fauci’s Ex-Boss Admits The Truth About COVID)

Immigration also surged in importance, potentially linked to the higher profile of foreign policy issues.

Analysts predict that foreign policy will remain influential in the 2024 election, with potential impacts from events such as the Red Sea blockade and China’s economic actions.

The poll also revealed a shift in public opinion away from massive spending on foreign aid and military support.

The L.A. Times speculated that foreign policy issues could negatively impact President Biden’s re-election due to his administration’s handling of foreign crises and support for Israel against Hamas.

The L.A. Times reported that “Biden has to contend with a voting Middle Eastern diaspora, new human rights norms and mass media capable of relaying round-the-clock images of Palestinian suffering.”

The outlet added that voters “echo the rhetoric of Donald Trump more than Joe Biden.”
