Less than half of Americans believe former President Donald Trump should be disqualified from running in 2024 due to his actions related to the January 6 Capitol riot.
A poll showed that 46% think Trump’s actions should disqualify him, with majority of Democrats in support.
However, 50% believe he should not be disqualified or that it’s not relevant to his fitness for the presidency.
Despite the division, Democrat-elected judges and state officials have tried to take Trump off the ballot, with legal challenges ongoing.
President Joe Biden is expected to focus on January 6 in his re-election campaign, planning to mark the anniversary near Valley Forge in Pennsylvania.
