Border agents in Tucson, Arizona, are observing an increase in immigrants from Guinea using fake passports to falsely claim they are minors when entering the U.S.

The immigrants are altering their ages to pose as unaccompanied minors for a better chance of entry.

The Border Patrol notice warns about fraudulent Guinean passports and suggests that the Guinean government may be involved in the fraud.

Most encounters involve adults claiming to be unaccompanied children, and there are reports of illicit groups selling and issuing passports without proper procedures.

This alert coincides with a significant number of adult men from Guinea crossing into the Tucson sector.
